New Convertor – HCS Highways to TSIS-CORSIM

The new convertor tool allows you to quickly export a Two-Lane Highway facility, modeled in HCS, to TSIS-CORSIM. Build a microsimulation model in seconds for more complex analyses.

New ETFOMM Microsimulation for TSIS-CORSIM

ETFOMM (Enhanced Transportation Flow Open-Source Microscopic Model) is a traffic simulation engine now incorporated within TSIS-CORSIM. Developed as part of an FHWA-funded project (Publication No. FHWA-HRT-17-028), this model offers expanded capabilities over the traditional CORSIM model, providing new modeling features.

Type of Network	Engine	Description
Roundabout	EFTOMM	ETFOMM introduces the new ‘Add Roundabout’ feature, allowing users to quickly input exit turning percentages in TSIS through a simple, streamlined process. This feature is also available in CORSIM, though it requires an additional step to complete the design.
Road Geometry Design	EFTOMM	ETFOMM provides users with flexibility in designing road geometry, allowing up to five turn pockets per side of each roadway segment, as well as adjustable turn pocket lengths.
Toll Plazas / HOT lanes	CORSIM	CORSIM models toll pricing features, enabling users to assess the impact of toll plazas and potential congestion resulting from these configurations.
Parking Simulation	CORSIM	CORSIM includes a detailed curb parking feature to assess the impact of parking maneuvers within the simulation.
Car following model	EFTOMM	ETFOMM incorporates a variety of car-following models within its engine, enabling it to replicate diverse driver behavior effectively.
Traffic Assignment with OD Data	CORSIM	CORSIM offers the flexibility to use either turning movement assignments or a built-in traffic assignment tool based on OD matrices.

Easily Create Roundabouts with the Add Roundabout tool

The new “Add Roundabout” tool in Map View allows for creation of a simulation-ready roundabout without having to add additional links or nodes.

Redesigned NETSIM Traffic Assignment Inputs

The NETSIM Traffic Assignment feature from TSIS 6.3 has been reintroduced for TSIS-CORSIM and features a redesigned O-D trip table, making it easier to input origin-to-destination volume for larger files.

Enhanced Sorting Logic in the Text Editor

The text editor now includes enhanced sorting logic to improve usability and efficiency. This upgrade simplifies the process of identifying and modifying specific simulation Record Types, assisting users in managing large and complex networks.

Sorting Methodology: Rows in the text editor are now sorted in a hierarchical manner. This structured approach to sorting allows users to quickly locate specific links or nodes within the simulation data, reducing the time spent searching for and editing entries. The enhancements aim to provide users with a more intuitive and efficient simulation experience.

Rows in the text editor are now sorted in a hierarchical manner, beginning with the Record Type (last column, orange), followed by the Link Upstream Node (first column, red), and concluding with the Link Downstream Node (second column, cyan)
