Transportation Health Fundamentals
Virtual | Applicable for 24.0 PDHs
The Transportation Health Fundamentals certification consists of the following two courses:
- Transportation Health Fundamentals I (12 hours)
- Transportation Health Fundamentals II (12 hours)
This program is designed to provide transportation engineers, planners, project managers, and public policy makers with a transportation health perspective and knowledge on how to use health principles in their day-to-day work. High-level content covered in these two courses are listed below. Participants will be provided with an opportunity to collaborate in interactive exercises. The Transportation Health Fundamentals Certification will be awarded to participants who complete Transportation Health Fundamentals I and II courses. Each training is an 12-hour-live online course.
Transportation Equity Fundamentals
Virtual | Applicable for 16.0 PDHs
The Transportation Equity Fundamentals program is designed to provide transportation engineers with a transportation equity perspective and knowledge on how they can use the equity principles in their day-to-day work. High-level content covered in this training (Transportation Equity Fundamentals I and II) is included in the content section of the page.
Participants will be provided with an opportunity to collaborate in interactive exercises. The Transportation Equity Certification will be awarded to participants who took Transportation Equity Fundamentals I and II courses. Each training is an 8-hour-live online course.
Content
High-level content covered in the two courses:
Basic knowledge of transportation planning processes is recommended but not required for this course. The Transportation Health Fundamentals Certification is ideal for transportation professionals, policymakers, engineers, planners, project managers, and public officials who develop, implement, and maintain initiatives of health in transportation as well as those whose scholarly work may intersect mobility and access in different scales and contexts.
Attendees must meet minimum technology requirements, such as having a computer with a steady internet connection and access to basic applications such as Zoom and a PDF reader. As the training includes interactive exercises, it is recommended (but not required) that participants be able to partake in discussions and exercises via Zoom using their camera and microphone.
The registration fees for Transportation Health Fundamental I & II are $545 each or $1,090 for both.

Upon completing the Transportation Health Fundamentals, attendees are provided the UFTI Transportation Health Certification and 24 PDHs.
