At the McTrans Center and the University of Florida, your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this page explaining our online information practices. Since Internet technologies continue to evolve and Internet business models are not fully established, this policy is subject to change. Any such changes will be posted to this page.

The Information We Collect

McTrans monitors the personal and non-personal information collected in our server log files. This includes all information contained in our on line order form. Credit card information is destroyed within four working days of its entry. We use this information to help us improve our Web site and enhance the ease of its use for you.  Personal information excluding credit card information may be shared with software suppliers to increase delivery and support. Third party software suppliers are limited by contract as to the use of any information they are provided by McTrans.


Occasionally our Web site may use Cookie information in the case of persons placing orders in order to ease the process should you wish to reorder from us.

The Information You Provide

When you place an order or request for information, we may require you to provide your name, title, organization, department, street address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address together with the necessary financial information. We do not share this information with outside parties except where necessary to complete your request. In the case of third-party products, some information (other than financial information) may be shared when necessary to deliver and/or support the products. In cases where the information is to be shared, the decision is at the sole and absolute discretion of the McTrans Center. The information collected is exempt from the Florida Public Records Act (Chapter 119 Florida Statutes).

The information we gather from online surveys is for the use of McTrans or of federal and state agencies requesting us to conduct the same. We  may request identifiable information such as name or e-mail address. Results are used internally at McTrans or if we publish or provide the results of a survey, the information is in a collective, non-personally identifiable form.
